I live in the country. The old lady up the road votes Republican because she thinks it's the Christian party. She goes to every food giveaway in the valley. She is in on all the county senior programs to fix her roof and paint her house. She takes the property tax and electricity government subsidies from the state. When her husband had a stroke the Life Flight helicopter to him to the hospital. she is constantly looking for every government hand out she can get.

Chicken Help!! Any suggestions?

I have a chicken, probably around 2-3 yrs old, we got her and some of her buddies on the 4th of April. About a month ago, we introduced some new young birds, gradually, and now everyone is co-existing well. On Friday, I noticed my big girl Biggie, had her comb was discolored and laying on her head (usually is erect and a bright red), she seemed very slow, delayed reactions and very careful about where she stepped. She's way out of it. She is not eating, depressed like, stays to herself, not interested in her free time (not even when everyone sounds the worm alarm and they go nuts) she'll just stand or lay there, not interested. There has been a few times where I see her yawning (like she's trying to dislodge some thing, but she's not gaging or choking) and she occasionally has a goober of drool from her beak. Her breathing is rapid, and she has some runny stool, but its not clumped on her bottom and she is not herself at all. The young birds were de wormed 2x prior before introduction, and the big girls were de wormed 2x before the introduction and as an entire flock they were de wormed after introduction. My husband cleans the entire coop ever 2-3 days, they are fed crumble, oyster shells every day, and corn 1 to 2 x a week thrown out in their paddock where they have free time. They get free time in a controlled setting, and are allowed to forage for bugs and on grass. I don't think she is laying, she's hardly walking or eating. We separated her to prevent the other girls from picking on her. Any suggestions. I was leaning towards coccidosis, however, labored breathing doesn't fit into the symptoms, and sour croup, but she doesn't have a smell? Any suggestions. I've tried all the vets around here, and none of them see chickens and yest we are in a rural area! ={ They suggest butchering her to prevent contamination of the rest of the flock.... ok if I need to , but I will not do that yet, because I don't know what it is and no other birds are displaying any of her symptoms. Ac heat/pump won't work...?

we have a heat pump...we live in arizona...temp is about 100 right now...ac was working fine until a few days ago....wife said there was a couple power outages....since then ac does not work.....i turn it on...it blows cold air for about 1 min....then compressor/ac shuts down....air still blows but not cold....if i switch the breaker the ac will work for about 1 min blowing cold then shut down again...air still blows but not cold....same thing over and over..........one copper tube coming from the unit is really cold...one is really hot......also, fan on the ac unit does not run at all......what could this be? i'd like to trouble shoot this before i call someone because we live in a rural area and it's expensive to get someone out here...thanks

Leasing Problem! Please help!?

In August 2009 I started and signed a 12 month lease with a college apartment complex in Waterloo, IA. In December I decided to move out, because I couldn’t find a job or afford the rent. I went into their main office and told them exactly that. They said I would have to find a subleaser and that was my only option or I would have to pay for the remaining 7 months. I couldn’t find anyone to lease for me and finally just moved out. I explained the situation to the owner and she said that they would look for a subleaser for me. I still had 7 months left on my lease, so I told them that if they looked for me I would pay for 3 months of rent ($1,125) and they agreed. I just got a bill for $1,600 for unpaid rent and damage to the apartment I didn’t live at. What should I do and how should I address the situation?

Severely enlarged tonsils with no pain?

Me and everybody that knows me have agreed that my tonsils are probably the gnarliest, nastiest looking tonsils they've ever seen. Not pus wise. My left one is pretty in flamed and has signs of yellowish streaks on it. Weird not clumps or balls of food just like yellowish whitish streaks all over the tonsil but its not that noticeable unless i look real closely in the mirror. The left one is not the problem. Although the right is one is so huge that it is literally dipped into my throat probably halfway, well at least thats how it feels. It is one huge puffy not hard but firm tonsil but when it ends on the bottom is another pink colored firm fleshy tonsil looking growth. They are both the exact same size almost and same color texture almost as if it is made of the same tissue/tonsil. But it is one then it gets a little smaller and another tonsil-looking lump hanging from it in to my throat. It doesnt hurt at all ever, not even to swallow. But it does feel like I have something lodged in my throat and it feels irritating to swallow saliva because nothing makes the feeling go away. Eventually it goes away on its own for a little while and comes back. Then sometimes I have trouble breathing through my mouth so it seems. It hurts if I press on it from the outside under my chin on the side under my jaw like on the neck you can feel the right one since it is so inflamed. I cant really see no pus on the right one but the other day I gargled salt water with a few drops of lime juice and I coughed up to little mushy yellow balls. They looked like tonsil stones but when I saw them I immediately squooshed them with my fingers to feel the texture. They easily pulverized into a mashed potato like substance that smelled awful. These were probably tonsil stones, I dont know. But the problem remains the super huge right tonsil. That looks like a pair of testicles almost. Im 17 I used to smoke cigarettes for almost a year, stupid of me ******* myself up so young, came to my senses and stopped. Hopefully the damage hasnt been officially done and its far away from cancer of the throat. But still I want these gone. Ive been prescribed ampicillin, penicillin (oral & injection), amoxicillin, salt & lemon gargles nothing works. I even went to an ancient mexican healer that healed swollen tonsils by "breaking" some nerves in the neck and arm. (last resort) My father was healed that way and never had problems with his tonsils ever again. But it did not work on me. Some doctors recommend a tonsillectomy but honestly i dont want to get rid of my tonsils, not so much because I need them but Im the kind of person that doesnt like something being ripped out of his body unless its a life and death situation. Im thinking of homeopathy. I dont know, what other options do I have?

The best thing, in my opinion, is to just do it. That's what I did and it was the only way for me. I got it over with. The way I look at it, the sooner you tell people, the sooner they can accept you just the way you are. I came out to my mother (I'm gay) when I was 16 and she just NOW talks to my girlfriend of 3 years. Sometimes it takes people a long time, so the sooner the better :)

Hi, I have been searching the internet for years on places to live in canada. I am from Perth Australia and have my heart set on moving to canada in the next few years. Paying for school in Canada (a US citizen)?

I was accepted at University of Waterloo for the Mathematics, Honours program for fall 2011 as a transfer student (I assume to the second year of my program, but I'm not sure yet of how my credits transferred) a week ago (I applied about a month and a half ago), and I am at a loss as to how I'm going to pay for it. I can't seem to find a loan that will allow me (a US citizen) to pay tuition at a Canadian school. Yep, you are skinny. You need to eat more proteins and put on some weight as you exercise. Muscles weigh more than fat and to build them up you need to start slowly and use light weights. Increase the reps until you're confident you can do them easily. Then increase the weights and start over with few reps and increase slowly. There should be some instructions with the machine. Follow them carefully, I estimate your weight at 98 lbs. Your average weight should be about 115-125 depending on your bone structure. Good luck and stay healthy.

What is the best use of free time on the road?

I'm starting a new job in outside sales. It will be long days on occasion that can last from 8am-10pm. The problem is that I will have blocks of times in unfamiliar (even rural) areas. This could be anywhere from 1-5 hours of "sitting" until my next appointment. With gas prices so high, going home would not be an option. Home or away... Uni? Im really confused on what to do.?

I don't have the greatest life living at home. I have a very nagging older sister who stayed home for university and she's in her 2nd year who keeps a watch on what ever I do (very annoying) and my parents argue a lot and I also have the smallest room possible. I live in a very small village north of Cardiff in a rural area (a place where you wake up to cows and chickens in the morning lol) and all my friends from school live at least 30mins away as I go to school in Llandaff which is in the middle of Cardiff so I have a very boring life too. My parents want me to stay home over issues of finance. I've looked at what finance will be available though, living in Wales even if I move to England my fees will still be 3k a year, I want to go to Bristol and that will cost me about 5-6k a year for accommodation etc perhaps more depending on what happens with inflation and the economy. I've read that depending on household income if I decide to move away I should get a living grant of around 1 thousand a year. My parents joint income is around 35k so Im not sure if Im just out of that bracket. I know with the students loans I wont pay anything back until Im earning 21k but its still a loan and I got that nagging feeling do I really want to start my life with 20-30k of debt before I even have a mortgage etc.What do people reckon, I know my social life will be far better than living home but is it worth it? Well, me my boyfriend and some of his friends that smoke weed gave me a joint, I had a few hits...maybe 1-3 and immediately my heart started racing, but then that stopped. I'm not totally familiar with the Canadian system so I can't say for sure, but I doubt any program would be all that inclined to accept someone who didn't have ANY of the program prerequisites. I would suggest a different undergrad program or a different grad program.

Why is it that when you go to a nice rich suburb or a rich trendy area of a big city, that the people are so much better looking than people that grow up in farm towns for example? I have a Rural King 3500e (3500w) portable generator. It runs fine. I was using it at my work during a power outage and noticed that it was having issues keeping a small freezer cold. I tried it on a microwave and it the microwave was not receiving enough power to run properly. At times it would run fine, then would almost drop down to no power. I've lived in both states and I likes Tennessee better. The lifestyle your looking for, you wouldn't want to live in the country but a nice little suburban area. Well I work at a local grocery store in a rural Missouri town and almost all of the customers (maybe 85%) are just outright rude and immature. Just found out our 10 year old dog has glaucoma in 1 eye. Vet escaped the room before giving me much info. I have no idea how far it has progressed. I have never been excluded from School so i don't know. But i think the school should make sure they are given something to do. I came to this idea by watching Episode 2 of Series 2 Waterloo Road. Hi all. So I was just wondering, will universities (especially Waterloo) look at my grade 11 marks? I have been slacking off and it has just struck me that I have to really start working hard for my future and it's about damn time I grow up. So my marks in percentages in my first semester were English - 82 , Computer Science - 94, Computer Engineering - 92, and Accounting - 90. However, I got kind of depressed and some "challenges" occurred in my life, and I have slacked this semester like none before. I am getting a 66 in Biology, 58 in Chemistry, 58 in Functions, and 75 in French. I know these are HORRIBLE marks for second semester, especially since Functions for grade 12 is a pre-requisite for the co-op program I want to get into, and with a mark like that in grade 11 I hope to god that they would not look at it. Furthermore, it is the last month for me to get my marks up as summer is just around the corner, and that really isn't enough time to bring my marks up. Considering that these marks don't decrease or increase, what are my chances of getting in? The cutoff for the program is an 80... and I just want to know from now from a person who has high knowledge in this area of where I stand. Any advice or comments are appreciated, and again in case anyone needs clarifying, I want to know whether or not the University of Waterloo looks at grade 11 marks when looking at acceptance requests. Dieting/Ideal weight advice?

2 years ago i was suffering from depression and picked up anorexic eating habits due to this, at my final weight (In which i lost around a stone and a half) I weighed 114 pounds and was 5 foot 3 tall. After getting help for this I have regained this weight ad remained the same height but i am not being told that at 133 pounds i am overweight and should aim to be around 112 pounds.... which is even less than what i was when i was literally starving myself. How can this be considered healthy? And if it is, how can i be this weight without falling into an old trap?

Well I live in a really rural area and we've gone out for target practice so many times i couldn't even count. You can fire your gun on your land, but you can't hunt unless its in that appropriate hunting season. I don't know where you are buying but crime in a rural area? Crime rates are higher in urban settings than rural ones. My house has never been the victim of crime. We do have an alarm system but its never been set off (unless the neighbor fired at a bird, missed, and hit my bedroom window). Unless you're expecting cowboys and indians to attack I don't see the necessity of a gun. However, for fun, they're always fun to lock load and fire ;)
