How much would it cost to backpack china?

i watched this documentary on southern china... i would like to back pack southern china in very rural spots... learn the culture of the people... i will be bringing two myself and a body guard... just wondering about how much i will need to bring... i do not want to stay in any big citys just the rural areas... i will have around 10000 us dollars... will this be enough??? thank you for helping me
