Are these safe areas in London for a bunch of American girls to stay in?

I am going to London with 3 other girls and we are looking to rent and apartment for a week and I found a few but I wanted to know which area would be the best for us. Either Waterloo, Westminster, or Canary Wharf? And are these good areas to go out at night?
