How can I convince my mom that rabbits don't smell?

My mom used to own rabbits to eat. She lived in rural China. Very rural. She said they smelled, but she owned 2. They ran around the yard. Anyway, she said when they peed, the yard smelled really bad. I told her that they can be litter trained, but she says it still will smell. What can I do?!
