London or Manchester for acting?

I am thinking about moving to the UK but I don't know if London or Manchester is a better place for an actor. I know a lot of shows like waterloo road, skins, shameless, and hollyoaks are made in Manchester, but is it a good city for an aspiring actor? Is it also gay friendly, and open minded? I ask because im mixed(african american, native american, british, english) i have light brown skin.
