Where to go to look to meet girls? (Around age 18)?

Basically I am looking for a relationship. I've been looking for one for a long time, probably since 8th grade. I've had two relationships but they both were horrid and broke up very quickly. The girls were very self centered, and I was their last priority and it wasn't a give and take, but a case of them just taking. I'm looking for a nice girl who is also looking for a relationship. I'm 18 so I'm not able to meet girls at like clubs or bars, plus I'm not that kind of guy. Oh, I'm in between colleges right now so niether college offers any potential girls right now, I don't date coworkers, and I live in an extremely rural area so there aren't any new neighbor girls. But my area is surrounded by urban areas, so there are people, and I know there has to be girls of the criteria I have, I just need to meet them... the thing is, where?
